Dear Babies … {Orange County Family Photographer}

I am soooo behind on blogging sessions.  It has been a crazy couple of months … being so busy, I have invited a guest blogger over here for the day.  Nathan is a recent client, and one of the most expressive almost-one-years old I have worked with.  He has volunteered some tips for those a little anxious about their sessions … enjoy!

Dear Babies,

So Mommy is laying out a million outfits on the bed, pleading with Dad to shave, and executing smiling exercises with you during snack time.   This means you are going to a photo shoot.  I confess, I was a little hesitant about our photo shoot too.  What do we do?  What if the photographer is a troll?  And, most importantly, what if I have to miss an episode of Ni Hao Kai Lan!??!

Not to worry friends.  A photo session is nothing to be afraid of.  In fact, it is actually quite enjoyable.  As babies, our job is simple … have fun with the people who we love most.  What could be easier????

You get to spend a lot of time snuggling, tickling and laughing with mommy and daddy.

Sometimes daddies are nervous too, and are not sure what to do at the photo shoot.  Just tell them, “What the heck, dad?  It’s easy!”

Silly dad.

Mommy will want you to take some photos all by yourself too. Just be brave, and laugh at the photographers lame jokes/bizarre sounds. Even though she is not funny, and her cow sound is way too high pitched.

Basically, she is nuts.

That’s okay, though, soon you get back to the snuggling with mommy. Who is acutally funny and makes proper animal sounds.

You can even bring your dog to your photo session! Dogs don’t really know what to do at these either, so you need to tell them firmly to look at the camera and smile.

They learn quickly if you mention peanut butter snacks await them at home.

Taking pictures is fun and easy. You can make any expression in the world, and it is the cutest thing that lady with the camera has ever seen. Duh, we’re babies.

When you need a break, let mommy and daddy have a turn since they are super cute together.

And when you are fried, you can wrap up the session with some more snuggles. Hopefully that camera lady will get the hint.

See? Easier than waking mom and dad up at 2:30 am! Photo sessions are nothing to be scared of, and can be lots of fun.

Just don’t let the camera lady make the chicken sound, it is incredibly disturbing.
